Keynote: Creating the Right Team Environment to Motivate Collaboration

Arthur_ShelleyArthur Shelley, Author, The Organisational Zoo: A Survival Guide to Workplace Behaviour, Global Knowledge Manager, Cadbury Schweppes

Pushing for collaboration is like fighting for peace! You get some controlled compliance, but no real commitment or ownership of a self-sustaining solution. Successful collaboration flows when the benefits to those involved and those around them are greater than the alternatives. Understanding the motivations and behaviours of individuals and small groups provides the foundation to move from a push strategy to a pull environment. The use of animal metaphors to understand the fit of a team member to a role enables each member to work productively and network more effectively beyond the project team. Project managers using these concepts have smoother delivery paths, better project outcomes and more fun at work.
