Identifying and managing risks is becoming a major focus in many organizations. This session will teach attendees how to facilitate a Risk Assessment session with their project team. Attendees will actually participate in a mock Risk Assessment session. They will discuss how to manage risks throughout the project life cycle including appropriate involvement of the project sponsor. This process taught is compatible with PMI’s approach to risk management.
  • A four-step procedure for conducting a successful Risk Assessment session.
  • A model for determining the Overall Threat a risk brings to the project.
  • Understand when to avoid, transfer, mitigate or accept a risk.
  • Understand the different types of plans associated with Risk Management such as Response and Mitigation plans.

Allen is an Adjunct full Professor of Management at the Jones Graduate School of Management - Rice University where he has taught for over a decade.He currently teaches the Strategic Project Development Program in Executive Education.
