Wednesday, April 11th marks the opening of the main conference. The event kicks off with a strategic keynote address by business management guru C.K. Prahalad, who shares his perspective and understanding of the critical business pressures facing the pharmaceutical industry today, and how these pressures affect drug development models. The day continues by taking a close look at the role of project managers in our current organizational environments, examining how to optimize efficiencies and generate increased revenues by assessing the quality of performance, for efficient use of project resources that go beyond timelines. Next, Terry Cooke-Davies, PhD, Executive Chairman of HUMAN SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL, invites participants to re-examine their own organizational business models by revealing the latest learnings of the Organizational Maturity Model (OPM3 Model). Following a short networking break, event participants will gather together for our featured address by Chip Bell, PhD, esteemed service guru and Author of 16 books on Service. Mr. Bell presents a clear blueprint for maximizing business success by enhancing customer loyalty and building lasting relationships.

Thursday April 12, 2007
Day two begins with a thought-provoking presentation by Jann Nielsen, PhD, Sr. Director, Project Management,WYETH. Dr Nielsen discusses Wyeth's innovative "Learn & Confirm" model of operations, examining the need for significant changes in organizations' mode of operations as they look ahead to future industry challenges. Project Management attendees will then re-convene for an inspirational keynote address by Olympic Gold Medalist and Cancer Survivor, Scott Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton shares his incredible journey and reminds us of the importance of what we do every day in helping bring important drugs to market. Following a brief networking break, we reconvene for our featured address by Healthcare Futurist and Author, Ian Morrison, PhD. Dr Morrison delivers a 360 degree view on the drivers that are changing the global pharmaceutical industry and provokes thought on the quest for value and challenges us to think more strategically about our business processes.

Annual Membership Meeting
The day continues with a session dedicated to the PMI Pharmaceutical SIG Annual Membership Meeting, led by Programs Director, Stephen Kuprel, PMP. The Pharmaceutical SIG Annual Membership Meeting provides SIG members and non-members an opportunity to learn about SIG membership benefits, SIG accomplishments during the past year and offers insight into the initiatives identified for the coming year. Additionally, it provides a networking opportunity for SIG members and members-to-be. Please join us and meet the SIG Board of Directors, and Appointed Officers, and help plan the future of the PMI Pharmaceutical SIG. Non-members Welcome!
