Private Equity Tax Practices 2010

Event Overview

Event Overview

It has been a year when investors, accountants, general counsel and LPs need to know more about regulatory trends, the economy’s impact on private equity and the best way to structure existing deals in a downturn.

Private Equity Tax Practices 2009 ended and left the attendees better informed about these topics and many more. Attendees left the forum after three days ready to manage changes in tax laws and trends in accounting, as well as being able to leverage new information to create exit strategies. They gained a fuller understanding of how tax laws international and domestic shaped the private equity structures.

“I liked the roundtables, the Q&A and the chance to speak to instructors and experts on an individual and small group basis.” – Carl Lemke, Director of Tax, Energy Investors Funds

“I most enjoyed the high level trend discussion with panelist as well as the specific presentations on deal structuring options." – Brent Faduski, Controller, SV Life Sciences Advisers LLC

Newly employed accountants got better information on the private equity industry and how it operates, giving them essential knowledge to make their work back at the office more productive and efficient.

Five specific tax sessions focused on UBTI, ECI and FDAS withholding issues and the increasing dominance of state taxation issues gave attendees a fuller picture of the regulatory and operational environment in private equity.

"The breakout sessions were very good. There was a very good balance between technical tax content and industry-related content and deal structuring." - Denise Marks, Partner & CFO, SV Life Sciences LLC

We look forward to seeing you back next year
