Title: Charting the Ocean of Opportunity for New Product Development
Date: Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT
Ideas are the starting point for new product development success. Without creativity, and without the ability to see what could be rather than what is, a company cannot come up with new products.
Coming up with ideas for new products is not a random or chance occurrence. It is not dependent on having the best most creative people around.
Coming up with ideas happens because you create the environment and implement a process that enables the generation of large numbers of quality ideas. You have to have the right mixture of people involved as well as skilled facilitation and tools to move the process along.
In addition, you must have the view of the customer, or potential customer, in the generation of new ideas for a product.
