The Innovation Management Group at the Fraunhofer TEG is active along the innovation process, especially at it’s fuzzy front end. Therefore, the group has developed new tools for the early detection of emerging technologies. One of these tools is so-called the TEGnology Bulletin which gives users access to the latest research results in different scientific areas. The TEGnology bulletin is a self learning software based tool, which makes use of linguistic means for a semantic search in scientific reports. Additionally, Fraunhofer TEG has also developed a metric in order to assess the risks in technology transfer projects. With the new toolset it is possible to detect emerging technologies and to asses the risk in transferring such a technology into a company’s business.
