Southern California Edison’s (SCE) corporate theme is “Leading the Way in Electricity.” Enterprise Architecture supports this by leading with architectures defined and implemented from an enterprise perspective. In this pursuit, we strive for a pragmatic approach to ensure that architecture investments provide real value. In all aspects “Making Enterprise Architecture a Reality” is our objective.

Significant enhancements have been made to SCE’s EA program in 2007.  The following deliverables were created or enhanced by working closely with other IT groups or the business:

• Information Technology Roadmap
• Integrated People, Process, and Technology Roadmap
• Integrated IT Processes
• Technology Watch Enhancements
• Reference Architectures and Logical Architectures
  

During this time, we have strived to mature the Enterprise Architecture vision on multiple levels while supporting the corporation’s implementation of new major programs. Key factors for success include: close collaboration with other groups, better information technology planning capabilities, and meeting project needs.

We thank IIR and EAC for recognizing these efforts in the most improved EA program award, and for this opportunity to showcase our efforts and share our successes.
