Category management has surfaced at center of the retail evolution

Category management has evolved from a product centric function to a strategic marketing solution to entering 2008 as a strategic business solution.

This conference aims redefine practices, change the dialogues amongst retailers, manufacturers and shoppers and spark new ideas for taking category management to the next level.  The current and future state of category management will be explored, exposing where we are now and what’s on the horizon.

This conference has been part of the “next generation” category management resurgence for the last three years.  In 2006, the central theme was “team work”.  In 2007, the central theme was “integration”.

This year’s theme is shopper-centricity and how to bring the shopper into every step of the category development process.  Participants will be amred with new ideas on how to achieve growth by learning the newest category management practices.  The event will cover the full spectrum of category management from the insights to the solutions to the execution. 

The main conference featuring big picture topics with general sessions in the morning and then breaks out into two concurrent track sessions divided by “Research & Strategy” and “Shopper & In-Store Execution.”
