Save the Date & Official Call for Presenters for Braintrust 2008

10th Annual Braintrust International Knowledge Sharing Summit
November 18-20, 2008 • Disney Contemporary Hotel • Orlando, FL

The Institute for International Research is excited to announce that the 10th Annual Braintrust International Knowledge Sharing Summit is back and production is underway! We will be reviewing presentation submissions until May 27th – space is limited so please submit your ideas TODAY!

This 3-day event is a summit focusing on the people-side of knowledge management and how communities of practice, social network analysis, and specific technologies can be used to create a trusting knowledge management environment to increase product development, innovation, and measurable retention. The 10th Annual Braintrust International Knowledge Sharing Summit is the place to interact with peers and get out of your comfort zone to learn what methods work, and how you can apply them in your world.

Your Opportunity

We are currently recruiting corporate practitioners to share unique ideas, perspectives and case studies related to knowledge management.

Got a good story to tell? Have a provocative perspective that needs to be shared? I’m interested in hearing from you. Takeaways and applications are a must!

We are seeking the same caliber of speakers and sessions on the following topics:

  • Social Network Analysis

  • Executive Buy-In

  • Communities of Practices

  • Integration

  • Collaboration

  • Competitive Intelligence

  • Tools and Techniques

  • Innovation

  • Globalization

  • Risk and Knowledge Management

  • Learning Management

  • Metrics

  • Creating an Environment of Trust

  • Interviews

Some specific areas we are seeking presentations in include:

  • Knowledge Retention ~ With the “baby boomer” generation looking ahead to retire in the next 10 years it is time for companies to get serious about how they plan to capture the knowledge of current workers and preserve it in the organization and teach it to the younger generations ready to assume the position of leadership.

  • Social Network Analysis ~ With sites like “blogger” and companies supporting their employees desire to blog, it is important to know the latest practices in social network analysis and how to identify experts and use blogs and wikis to get individuals communicating and sharing on an enterprise and often global level.

  • Collaboration ~ What are some of the best practices available for actionable, result oriented collaboration?

  • Tools and Techniques ~ Knowledge management is people management and this is often made easier with the use of tools. What are some of the latest tools available to aid in capturing knowledge and how can companies make it personal to their employee’s needs and desires?

Formats include:

  1. Standard presentation (45 minutes long including time for question and answer)

  2. Interactive ideation and brainstorming sessions to engage the audience in discussion (30 - 45 minutes long)

  3. In-depth Workshop (3-4 hours long)

Interactivity is encouraged in all sessions!
