A look back at the Business of Biosimilars & Biobetters Event
The 2011 Business of Biosimilars & Biobetters event, which took place on September 19-21 in Boston, drew more than 80 attendees for spirited discussion. Although FDA guidance and the Abbreviated Pathway are still outstanding, there was still a lot to discuss. We worked to define "interchangeable" and "highly similar". We discussed INN implications, the role biosimilars in emerging markets have on biosimilar products in established markets, and the costs associated with biosimilars. Finally, we heard a PBM executive speak about how physicians evaluate drugs, and what would make them select a biosimilar over an originator. Although we collaborated and were able to answer a lot of questions, there are still a lot of unanswered questions, which is why we invite you to join us for our 4th Annual Business of Biosimilars & Biobetters event, which will take place on September 19-21, 2012 in Boston. The event is currently in production.
"This Biosimilars conference was extremely well organized with the sessions starting and ending on time. The mix of presentations and discussion panels was excellent and provided the opportunity for good Qs/As. The breaks were well timed and adequate to allow for good networking interactions. Unlike some conferences, the organizers did not try to pack in too much technical or legal information, but provided a nice balance with practical advice on moving the product development process forward. The range of speakers and session chairs was outstanding, including individuals who are already successful in the real world market.
