About the Facilitators:
Maria Pajil-Battle is Senior Vice President of Public Affairs & Marketing for Keystone Mercy, AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan. Ms. Pajil Battle oversees public relations, community affairs and marketing. She has spent much of her professional career utilizing her skills and abilities in the Greater Philadelphia health market. Through her work, she has become known as an innovator in the area of health access, prevention and education, and has made a significant impact in improving the health status of underserved populations of every age and race, through-out the eastern seaboard from New York to Florida.
Maureen George, PhD, RN, AE-C, Asthma Educators An expert in asthma care, Maureen George has worked as an advance practice nurse in lung disease since 1986. Dr. George provides education regarding the appropriate use of asthma medication and devices, conducts professional development programs and finalizes all outcomes analyses for Healthy Hoops participants. Dr. George is also an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
