Part I: Developing an Effective Risk-Based Compliance Program
The development and implementation of a risk-based AML compliance program to comply with anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing and related requirements is of paramount importance for most financial institutions. But increasingly, other types of businesses are being scrutinized by regulators. In addition to ensuring compliance with current and future regulations, it makes solid business sense to create risk-based AML compliance programs, including insurance companies, money service businesses, stored value products, casinos, and other at-risk businesses.
In this workshop, you'll hear strategies on how to evaluate and score risk, based on the types of products offered, transaction level and methods of funding, utilize client and partner profiles in risk assessments, understand how geographic concerns and political risk should be assessed, and analyze and manage fraud risk. Additionally, you'll learn how to develop metrics to measure program performance and advise management on how to deal with compliance program matters. You'll also hear how to utilize this risk assessment to develop and build a compliance policy.
